ABOUT ABOUT

The Holiday Season in the Time of Covid-19 with Peter Carpentieri, LMFT

This three-hour workshop will explore how Covid-19 affects us and our clients in this holiday season, and how we might support ourselves and each other through this ordinarily difficult time - under these extraordinary circumstances.

We will explore available resources, self-care tools and practices, the influence of family dynamics, boundary-setting, somatic and physical well-being as they relate to the holidays, the importance of connection, financial issues, and other topics introduced by the participants and facilitator.

Objectives:
At the end of the presentation, you will be able to:

  1. Identify several tools and strategies for your clients to utilize during the holiday season to reduce stress and isolation and increase joy, satisfaction and connection, and to apply these same tools and strategies for yourselves as needed.
  2. Assess your expectations, and help your clients assess their expectations for what this holiday season will bring and may not bring, and discuss the ways to help them navigate their way through it under the circumstances.
  3. List the steps to utilize a gentle, titrated approach of regulating your own and your clients’ nervous systems and emotional responses to the stressors of the holidays, and to this holiday season in particular.
